Jake Karambit - Cybercasted as Hugh JackmanAge 31
Moral Alignment Amoral Hero

Description
Jake has a rare genetic disorder called

Leber's congenital amaurosis. He has lived with this disability since birth and has learned to cope quite well. It affects his power to a large extent. Without Patrick Kowalski's guidance his power would have never gotten past simple ESP.

Powers
Jake has an ability called Inherent Omniscience, or knowing everything he chooses to know about what can be known. Besides being an expert in many areas of science, the power has adapted to his lack of vision by increasing his awareness of what is going on around him. At any point in time, he knows exactly what is going on
within a circle roughly a thousand feet in diameter. To the extent that he even knows what someone is thinking. However, once outside of this circle Jake's power becomes usable only by conscious thought. The amount of energy required is based on how far away the intended target is. While he is not precognitive, he can predict the immediate future, with a certain amount of accuracy. Roughly 2:1 odds he will be right.

Multiple Powers
Jake has found a way to mimic Sylar's method of power theft. However, with only one flaw; he can only copy one ability. This is due to some kind of genetic anomoly arising from his blindness. Originally he had gotten a hold of Super-Speed but later stole Gravitakinesis from Jason Nox, a Syndicate operative.
Later, he found he could get the information necessary to give himself any power he desired. However, this could only be done by putting himself in a catatonic state to access the world's knowledge. Soon after doing this and trading gravitakinesis for metallokinesis, he found he could not exit the catatonic state without help from a telepath.
After his death and ressurection by Caleb Koch and Jonathan DeVry, he was given a disk with a highly detailed readout of Jonathan's brain. This enabled him to copy Quantum Teleportation.

Past
Jake's past is a closely guarded secret. The following is what is known about him.
He was a foreign exchange student at some point in high school and met Hana Gitelman in Israel.
Jake is a professional thief, robbing a jewelry store in New York before joining the heroes and breaking into Triggs Tower One to make a quarter billion dollars of Triggs' money dissapear. It is unknown for sure whether or not he has quit this occupation.
His parents Logan and Kendra Karambit were killed by a woman with the ability to replicate herself named Jaimie Rathstone. This was done under orders of Jason Nox, the gravitakinetic, after they stumbled upon his stock market rigging scheme.
He has lived in New York City for ten years, during that time he became best friends with Cameron Kennedy who is a cyberpath and Patrick Kowalski who can amplify powers temporarily or permanently.

Death
Jake was killed in his bedroom by a strange evolved human that was later revealed to be James Gwai Long.
The reason behind the killing is not known but it was implied that Jake knew he was coming and did not stop it so as to help keep the Dark Future from happening.

Resurection
Jake's death prompted Jonathan DeVry and Caleb Koch to go back in time. Caleb duplicated Jake five years ago and Jonathan brought him to the present.

Adventures in Australia
Jake visited Victor Javart in Australia to help him learn more about Friedrich, Stoker and Koch. Eventually they visited Bernhard Friedrich and Jonas Stoker at the Angelican Church. After a brief conversation Ian Jackson showed up. Victor and Jake proceeded to engage him in combat, with Ian murdering Jake before himself being killed. Later Jonas Stoker (the man revealed to be the Takehiko Nakamura from 1671 with unmatched healing abilties) takes Jake's body and revives it.

Egypt and the Final Farewell
Eventually it is revealed to the RPG that Jake Karambit has returned from the grave a second time, beating Jesus by one. He is seen in Egypt interrogating Kelly Bourne, for reasons never revealed, before being jumped by Kain. Later Jake visits Kelly in jail and reveals his name. A cut to a potential future shows Noah Bennet recording a tape that explains what happened when he teleported out of Kelly's cell. It is revealed that Jake has been compiling all sorts of information due to his ability and has placed it all in a Switzerland safety deposit box. This box was discovered after the Nuclear War of 2009 and the information helped to rebuild the world, he states that it may never be found because of the changes being made. Noah then gives the tape to Hiro Nakamura to place in the safety deposit box as he is going back in time to change the Nuclear War Future. We're led to believe that Jake is the one Hiro talks to and his actions completely negate that potential future. The details are unknown, but Noah says that in this future Jake did not survive and never again resurfaced.

Alternate Timeline Versions

Union Wells High
In this alternate reality Jake is a blind student going to high-school at Odessa. His closest companion is Sylar the German Shepard seeing eye dog.

Ten Years Gone (Subject 137/Tel/Telos)

Jake was serving in the Anti Triggs Underground after his wife and children died. He swung in and out of emotional instability, until solving the problem by committing suicide. It is also revealed in this storyline that Jake was cloned for use by the ATF. He was a teenager when found by a time jumping version of himself. Later it is revealed that Tel (his adopted name) was genetically engineered to have every ability (omni-potency). Further more, Telos (a revised name) traveled back in time and was teaming up with his genetic father (Jake Karambit) trying to stop Ian Jackson.

I am not familar at all with Wetpaint. Appearantly I created a page in the wrong place and it seems "stuck" to the home page. If anyone can help me out and move it to the right place I would be deeply indebted to them.
