Japanese-American, he grew up in a middle-class family and lived a pretty comfortable life. When he his his teens, he began despising the many rules and boundries set by his father and went down what his mother called "the wrong path." After a particularly bad arguement, he stormed out of the house at the age of 16 and ran away. He has never made contact, nor tried to contact his family. Instead, he stayed with some friends he made during one of his camping trips.

First dicovered when he was a child, it scared him to the point where it seemed to disappear. During high school, his ability once again manifested when he was almost caught vandalising school property. Since then he's only used to to fly himself up to hiding places or to find places of solitude.
He has never tried to reach the full extent of his powers, nor has he ever tried to fly any distance.
