History:
Roman Americo Nocetti was the son of Italian immigrants, Drago Nocetti and Gina Lagorio. His family lived in the poor Italian section of San Francisco and never had much money. Roman's father was an alcoholic who was usually unemployed and Roman used to take odd jobs as a child to help earn money for his mother and two younger sisters.
Roman met Luigi Bandetti the first day of kindergarden and they became instant friends. Luigi was a short, stocky kid whose family was the infamous Bandetti Family, one of the most powerful families on the west coast.
Roman was extremely intelligent and his teachers commented on his analytical mind, but because of his family life and having help support his family, his grades usually suffered.
By high school, Roman had started running errands, debt collection and other odd jobs for the Bandetti Family with Luigi. At the same time he was working down at the docks loading ships and so had hardly any time for school.
One day Drago, in a drunken rage, beat Roman's sister, Rena, so severely that she had to be hospitalized. When Roman found out, he hunted his father down and killed him in a fit of rage. Luigi, with the help of his family, disposed of the body and gave Roman some money to leave town with the understanding that he would owe them later.
Roman joined the Navy and spent the next six years travelling around the world. It was at this time he discovered his powers. Roman got involved in a bar fight in Singapore with some local hoods. Roman manage to beat them off, but on the way back to the ship one of had followed him and tried to shoot Roman with a gun. Roman in his panic wished that the thug was a hundred miles out to sea and the thug instantly disappeard.
Roman was shocked and over the next several weeks practiced with his power, discovering its limits. He also learned out to send things to himself as well as away.
When Roman finally left the Navy he decided to go to college, so he finished his high school diploma and the G.I. Bill, enrolled in a business college. Without the stress of his family life, Roman was able to excel at school and graduated Magnum Cum Laude with an MBA.
Roman went to work for a large corporation and was soon was fast tracked for upper management when the Bandetti's came to collect their debt. The Bandetti's at first used Roman to launder their money and keep their books, but Roman found ways to increase their profits through more efficient business practices.
During this time, Roman met and fell in love with Elizabeth Baker and were soon married. They eventually had four children, three boys and a girl. The three boys later joined the family "business". The girl, Gina had a daughter of her own but died of cancer. This was also the time when Roman became more and more involved with the family and became a wiseguy.
Then one day, Roman's childhood friend, Luigi Bandetti, got himself into trouble with his family by having an affair with his brother's wife and finally killing his brother. Roman teleported Luigi to safety without anyone knowing, but the family never trusted Roman after Luigi's disappearance. Roman also realized that the Bandetti's would make more money if they treated their "family" business as a true business, but they wouldn't listen to him.
Luigi and Roman started plotting a take over of the Bandetti family and Roman used his powers and influence to eliminate key figures. Finally in the late eighties, Luigi and Roman made their move and took over the Bandetti family. They renamed it the Nocetti family and Roman used his money, business sense, extortion, bribery and metahuman abilities to expand it into a business empire of both criminal and legitimate businesses. By the year 2000, Nocetti Enterprises was one of the top ten companies in California.
Now at 68, Roman has been thinking of retiring, but is not ready to give it all up just yet.
