Samuel Peregrine is a man of experience. His life started with death. During labor his mother died and as a consiquence his farther orphaned the boy and then committed suicide.
It was an American couple, James and Mary Samson, that took Sam as their own. They were both serving with the US military and where stationed in England. At the end of the Cold War they retired from the army and moved to NYC.
When Sam came of age he left his foster parents and joined the US army. Not long after he got leave from the army and moved to England, where he join the British Army. For them he served in the Falklands, Ireland and Iraq. He left the British Army when he was 30 and left for a life of war.
Samuel Peregrine hired himself as a mercenary. He fought in Africa and the Middle East. He also had a wife, Tara, who he loved dearly. It was when they where both attacked in an Iran safehouse that Sam got his alias Hammerhead.
Now with his family murdered and nothing left for him he travelled back to England, to learn of his family history. It was in England that he got arrested for his crimes and got jailed for being a terrorist. Prison didn't suit Sam, so he got out. And now at 42 he is on the run following the mysteries told to him by his prison mate and last friend, Adam.


Description
5ft 11inch, dark blonde/brown hair. Long scar down the left side of his face, starting top forehead, crossing his eye and ending midway under his chin. Due to such a scar it has left his left eye a blood red colour with a single pupil. Many more scars and thick callused hands. Favours simple clothes and heavy boots.

Power
Sam describes his powers only as 'the elements' and speaks of himself as an elemental. He can create fire, water, earth and air.
Fire used for fighting, blowning stuff up and keeping his food warm. Fire is amplified by Sams anger and also injures himself when using it.
Earth used also in fights. Sam can toughen himself up by growing rock and soil from his skin. This he uses to add strenght to punches and to also stop bullets and knives penetrating his skin.
Water isnt really used that often. The only time he has used water was to show off to Tara and to damp rags to tend to his wounds when using fire.. Sam now only views his water ability as a weakness.
Air also hasnt really been used much. Sam has only used air to create a more dramatic scene, like making his hair or cape blow. It once saved his life when he created an air bubble to survive from a sinking ship in the Falklands.

Origins of Hammerhead

A secretly located safehouse in Iran was keeping Sams and Tara's life simple. They where trying for a baby, there income was good and life seemed perfect. But, one night, men dressed in Arab uniform stormed there house. They took Sam and Tara hostage. After murdering Tara all hell broke loose. The men holding Sam burst a flame. Sam shot up, landing punches and blows among all the men. Some people shot at him, but nothing could stop the rampage. It was over quickly, only one militant survived. Sam had held him by the throat against the wall. Sams hands where burnt and bleeding. Suddenly the man took a knife and striked for Sams face. The wound was deep and his eye bleed. But Sam didnt cry out in pain, he blieves that the earth helped to either dull the pain or heal his wound. Instead Sam used headbutt the man. Once, twice, thrice and more. Sam only stopped when his hand holding the mans throat had nothing left to hold onto. Sticky with blood Sam buried his wife and fled the scene. CCTV caught all the action. Where ever Sam went from this point on he was called Hammerhead. When he asked for work he got turned down, because of Hammerhead. When Sam finally gave up and went back to England to discorver his family roots he was arrested and charged as a terrorist, as Hammerhead.
